Talking Blood pressure going down - Dr gives reprieve

When I first visited the Dr before starting this new lifestyle, one of the things that concerned him was my blood pressure. It registered at 170/110 and was 180/110 five days later when I went in to get the results of my various blood tests.

Needless to say he wanted to put me on meds at once but I talked him into giving me some time to get some weight off and get some exercise. He only gave me 2 weeks and today was my report in to him. I've reduced by 11.5 lbs since my first visit and my blood pressure was down to 157/94!! Hoooooray!!! Now I know that is still very high but I proved to him that I can get it lower without throwing meds at the problem. So he's given me a reprieve until he reruns all my blood tests at the end of July.

Here's hoping my cholesterol results are vastly improved in that time as well!

Barb (doing happy dance - what's a little more exercise? lol)

Thumbs up

Congratulations! You must be on top of the world!

I know how that feels, because I have had borderline high blood pressure for years and been threatened with meds. I've been doing Atkins for 3 months now, and already feel like a different person. Between that and having lost some of the weight that brought the BP up in the first place, I am hoping to get a good report like yours, when I go back in July to have mine checked.
Thanks for sharing your good news. What an inspiration!
