Default Yasmin Birth Control Pill?

Hi, I'm suppossed to start Yasmin Birth Control pills next week and the medical information states that the pill contains progestin, which increases potassium. Now, I have been taking potassium supplements with this WOL, should I continue with the supplements? I take 99mg a day for the leg pain. If anyone has any ideas on this I would appreciate it. I feel crazy asking my gyno this, since I already ask her so many crazy non related questions.

thanks
roxie

JMHO, but your physician should be told about any and all supplements you are taking, including potassium - and I'm sure that s/he will be happy to address your question about how the supplement use might be effected by the new medication.

Roxy, food for thought. Ever since I've been taking Yasmin I haven't lost 1 single pound. I excercise 5 times a week. I mean running between 2-5 miles each day with weights & pilates twice a week. When I started them last year after the birth of my second daughter I noticed a stall. I got off and lost weight. I asked my doc about this and she said it "shouldn't hinder weight loss cuz it's a dieretic" UM DUD!!!!! It did for me!! So here I am stuck again with about 7 extra pounds and now I'm absolutely getting off of them!!!!! I know everyone is different, this may not happen to you but I just thought I'd warn you.....
Good luck!

I too have gone on the BC Pill which is a major difference between doing Atkins now and this time, I am finding the weight loss tougher this time around.
