Question Size 8 weight?

Does anyone have an idea what a size 8 weight, (say like slacks or jeans), would be in there opinion? Really curious.

That is a very hard one to answer, because it is different for each person. Depends on how tall you are, and your body shape. For me usually its the lower 140's.

That is hard. I have seen people get into 8's at a higher weight than I am now and I have JUST gotten into a 7/8. Of course, I am really short and I have no waist-just boobs and then hips.

Since you are 5'4" I would think you can get into 8's at around 130-135? It also depends on the manufacturer of the clothing. Sizes are not standardized here, so my clothes have all kinds of sizes. In petites, for example, I still wear a size 10-12. Petite sizes are usually sized bigger than regular ones. I also have pants that are size 9's, 10's and 8's that all fit me about the same way. Go figure.

Edie-

I am 5' even-so just a little weight on me shows so much more than on someone taller. Although, 4" isn't all that much taller!

I agree that weights and size do not always go together. I am at 170 and am a size 18 (maybe 16 on a good day), but I have seen many women state that they are in size 18 when they weigh somewhere in the 200's. I'm 5' 4'', so that will account for some of it, but not all. I am just "fluffy"

To futher point out the difference in body sizes, I am 5'5 and at 170's in contrast to Talon's 18 (16 on a good day ) I wear a size 12. An inch may not seem like it should matter a lot, but it can.

Default Another Shape

I'm in the low 170s and about 5 ft. 9 in. tall. But, I'm very much apple shaped and all my remaining fat is in my mid-section. (This is typical of insulin resistance and I'm a type 2 diabetic.) Because of my large waist, I wear size 14 or occasionally 16.

It sure does depend. I am 5ft 4in and weigh 131 and am in a size 12. I guess I'll need to be 120 to ever see 8's again. No fair!

Right now I am 5'4", 135 lbs. and a 10 slacks & a 12 jeans. I don't have much butt...teehee...but also my waist does not go in much, from the front I am kinda straight thru there. Not sounding too sexy here as I am explaining myself!!

I'm 5'6'' and 135 right now and a size 10. An eight would probably be 125 or so. At 165 I was in a 14, tight. It depends on where the clothes are made and your body shape. I have wide hips so pants have to fit there and then are often big in the waist.

Default Jeans

I'm 5'2" and I just got into size 8 jeans... you can see my weight at the left.
But I've always been kinda hour glass shaped.
BTW, the jeans are tight (not uncomfortably so), but the next size was TOO BIG.
Felt great to purchase those jeans!

I'm 5'5", 123 - 125 pounds, and wearing a size 10 jean. But that's ok - 10's a nice even number and who can rely on manufacturer's to use consistent sizing? I know people who are bigger than me, wear smaller clothes, but also shop at more expensive places than I do.

WoW, sizes are all over the board, LOL

First off, a size 10 made in 3 different countries, will be 3 different sizes

Like Canada > Usa............... huge differnence.

Plus body shape.....................where you carry your weight, can really throw off the size.

Example the posters here: some weigh way more than others, but are into a smaller size????

So I guess size # really means nothing, I think it's just fine to be down "X" amount of sizes, rather than, place emphasis on the number on the tag, LOL, who sees them anyways???

Yeah, lets for get the numbers, really it's no gage, other than a false one

Cheers Kathy
