Smile hi there

well, it usually depends which diet you follow. if you're doing atkins, the 2 week induction diet says to have no more than 20g of carbs a day...*L* but that's about as far as my knowledge goes!!! hopefully someone else can tell you more

Hello Ray,

Welcome to the board!

How many carbs an individual can eat in a day for successful low-carbing is personal. It depends on many things like metabolism, the number of previous failed attempts at losing weight, activity, carbohydrate addiction, etc. I will very cautiously guess that it is under 100 grams per day.

If you are serious about embarking on a low-carb way of eating, read Dr. Atkins New Diet Revolution or Protein Power by the Eades. They are both full of essential information on low-carbing.

Reading a book also gives you a frame of reference in which to use a support group successfully. Many of us here are changing our life-style to one of better health and are not looking for a quick-fix "diet" miracle.

So please do read a book. Once you start, you'll hopefully never look back. The benefits are enormous!

Karen
