Default Strawberries in Phase 2

First of all I would like to thank all the people who post in this forum, you are a great help!

Now, on to business. I am on day 12 of Induction and have lost about 10#, now I am trying to decide if I want to go to Phase 2 or not.

What I am thinking of doing is making no changes except for 1 little item, STRAWBERRIES. I guess you could call it a craving, but I miss fruit and this seems the safest way to go. I read that Atkins suggests you hold off on berries for a few weeks but I think adding them now might prevent me from cheating.

Other than that, I feel so much better I plan on staying on Induction for at least another week. Now that I think about it, I guess eating berries really puts me into phase 2.

Any suggestions?

Thumbs up Go for it!

Strawberries are a great addition and you're so close to the end of induction that it would probably be fine. You can still stay at induction levels for a while. Just cut back on cheese on the days you have berries. I know a lot of people put whipped cream on them but since they're in season now, the ones I've been getting have been really sweet and yummy plain.

Enjoy!

I would say to keep your daily intake the same that it has been (Induction levels, if it ain't broke, don't fix it), just add the 3/4 cup fresh strawberries in two days ("finish" out Induction) so you don't slip and cheat. They are in season and so wonderful now.

I eat 2 strawberries per serving on induction and do fine. I'm not ready to start adding more just yet, especially when the two take care of my craving.

Yes, moderation is the key ! Two nice fat strawberries ( with a nice slice of LC cheesecake) is very good .

Same for me, a few strawberries at a time, no problem-just be careful to control your portion size. It didn't slow me down at all, and I was the same as you, thinking that I must have some fruit or go around the bend. BTW, blueberries are great, too, and have even fewer carbs...

Is it possible for LC cheesecake to be real tasty?

LC cheesecake is made exactly like regular cheesecake, except that it uses Splenda instead of sugar. And personally, I think LC cheesecake crusts, made from ground almonds, macadamias, or hazelnuts, are tons better than graham cracker crusts. Even normal people agree with me on that, at least judging from the speed at which they disappear at family gatherings!

I made The Marble cheesecake from here this past weekend and it was a HUGE hit with my non-atkins parents. I thought it was great. The splenda seems to make me really sleepy, so next time i'll try substituting stevia. wish me luck.

Strawberries where the first thing I added after induction. I had no problem with them. I think you will be ok if you add them into your diet.

I eat strawberries for a snack after dinner with splenda sweetened whipping cream - I eat 20 - 25 carbs per day, when I know I'm having the berries, I eat accordingly - as per fitday.com.
