Thumbs up Fellow Australian

Hi,
I'm fairly new to this low carbing but so far i've lost 5 kilos in just under 2 weeks. Is there somewhere where there is a list of low carb Australian products as most sites I've gone to are american. For example what's the best mayonnaise to use etc.
Thanks
Tracey

Hi Tracey, welcome!

You've started well - goodonyamate!

I think the best thing for you to do is just have a good sticky through this forum - there are several threads here about mayo etc. But on the whole, I just read labels.

At first I was interested in looking for LC "products" but now, although they are still not available in Brissie except on mail order, I've come to realise that the best LC products are meat, fish, eggs, cheese, vegies, cream, butter and oil.

Do look around this great site, Tracey. The orange bar at the top of the screen is very helpful, especially "Low Carb Tips." You might also check "Hot Links" in the Newbies Questions forum. They are links to former threads where people have had many questions answered.

All the best, matey!

hi tracey,

you could try www.pictureofhealth.com.au they are aussie and have online ordering, but they have cereal, muffins etc. i haven't tried any of it, i am still on induction and trying to keep costs down as it is! i'm also told the health food shop GNC stocks low carb/atkins food but i haven't checked out my local store to confirm this. most hf shops will order in for you.

cheers, sam

BTW my fave mayo is Thomy's Delikatess, it is 0.5g for 1 tblspn and it isn't sweet.
