Default takeaway food

It's my birthday tomorrow and I certainly don't want to cook. My husband can't cook so we were considering a takeaway. Trouble is I can't think of one that I can have. Which has less carbs - Chinese without rice or Indian without rice? Is there a site where you can get the carb counts of takeaway? I'm in rural UK so thoise are my only two options for takeaway.

Sometimes restaurants post their menus online. I don't know which is better, but be mindfull of sauces, they can have added sweeteners.

Happy Birthday!

I don't know about the carb counts of those types of food, but I do know what I would do if it were my birthday - I'd go out for a nice juicy steak!

Have fun!

I ate Chinese food (really for the first time) this weekend and was SO happy. I got chicken and vegetables in garlic sauce and asked if that could be made with no sugar and no cornstarch. "No problem!" was the reply. The sauce was a little thin without that cornstarch thickener, but still soooo yummy. I would go with Chinese, I think they are generally very accomodating to special requests.

If you decide on Indian, try the spinach, I forget what it's called. Soooo good.

HAPPY (as cait cutely wrote) BIRTDAY!

p.s. Cait... I think birtday is charming.

I don't think there are any carbs in Indian tandori dishes. Indian curries might have carbs if they thicken the sauce with corn starch or something similar, but Chinese sauces can have the same problem. I've eaten both without any problems -- my current lowcarb Chinese favorite is Mongolian lamb.

Default thanks everyone

I checked out that site cptkirk and it was very useful. I had lamb rogan josh and a special saag aloo with no potato in it. Delicious. I had a couple of glases of G&T but I have a hangover today!
I had a nice day though - thanks
