Lightbulb How many fat grams per day is ok???

Hi all,

I just started Atkins on Friday. So far I am liking it. Today I entered what I have eaten into the log on fitday.com and it told me that I have eaten 105 grams of fat, 96 grams of protein and 12 net grams of carbs (1400 calories)...and I have yet to eat dinner. 105 grams of fat seems extraordinarily high to me (used to eating low fat). This is 70% of calories from fat! Is this normal for induction and beyond or should I try and cut down a little? Maybe use a little let mayonnaise or something?

Thanx,
Cindy

70% of your calories from fat is about what most people on Atkins do. As you add carbs back into your plan in OWL it may go down a bit.

Hard to get used to but fat is your friend! You need fuel for the fat-burning fire. It will also help to keep you feeling satisfied. Don't worry about the fat a bit!

And yes, usual percentages are about 70% fat, 25% protein, and 5% carbs.

Keep up the good work!
