Default Very weak...

I lost weight sucessfully last year on Atkins. Gained it all back +2 this year.

Today is my first day back and I am so very weak. I do not remember having this reaction before.

I'm drinking my water - I've eaten a lot of protien - I'm not hungry at all.

Any suggestions? I'm miserable. I'm trying to tell myself it's only for a day or so but I feel so weak and nauseaus (sp?)

It's normal to feel terrible for the first few days of Induction. It's a form of detox really, only you're ridding yourself of an addiction to sugar or carbs instead of alchohol or drugs. As long as you're following the Induction plan correctly, drinking your water, and taking a supplement, then it will probably pass in a day or two. Just make sure to eat even if you're not hungry and get as close to 20 net carbs as you can.

So unfortunately, my only suggestion is to wait it out. Good luck!

And if you feel absolutely too horrible, then do eat some extra cooked veggies from the Induction List or some more salad. It could be that you need some carbs at every meal for a few days. Or to eat every few hours instead of just 3 meals.

Possible also that you need a bit of extra potassium at first - use some "No Salt" on your food.

I agree with Barb. You may need to increase your carbs for a few days and ease into it.

I had to take a nap every day for the first 2 weeks. Then someone sugested potasium, and I got on Centrum carb assist. Now I am feeling much better. I have found it hard to stick with the 20 g in the beginning also. I love spinach salids with cucumber and a boiled egg, green onion, sometimes even grated cheese or deli turkey on top. It was like a full power meal for me. Good luck.
