OK...Here I go...
This is my first time ever to post anything on the web...So I'm still figuring this out.
I have been an off and on Adkins dieter for the past few years, my husband is a devotee of the lifestyle, but I'm a carb lover, and revert whenever the mood strikes me.

I am so frustrated and tired of being overweight and feel SO good when I lose a few pounds...I just don't understand why I can't get it through my head that everything I put in my mouth has a consequence.

I hope this time I can stay with it.

By the way, I am Australian, living in the US for the past 17 years. I have the husband of my dreams, a Spinone and a wonderful (challenging) business....my perfect life, except for that pesky 50 lbs!

Hi and welcome Lynette!

I too have a slender husband who has embraced the LC life -- and he makes it look so easy! I just started last week to really take my carb addiction seriously, so I know how you feel.

I decided to be active on these boards because writing it down seems to make it real in a way that just thinking about it doesn't do. Do you think that would help you?

Good luck and please keep us posted on how you're doing!

-oregano

PS I had a short trip to Australia 10 years ago and it was lovely -- when my son is a little older we plan to go back for a longer trip to really see the sights.

Default Welcome!

You've come to the right place for support doing Atkins!

I would like to do Atkins but I have medical issues that mean I must follow another LC plan.

There are a lot of very knowledgeable people here who can help give you support, encouragement and even sometimes a gentle kick in the behind when you need it, lol. (That means Laughing Out Loud - I don't know how new you are to this computer stuff, we have a lingo all our own here which you can find by clicking here.)

One member I know who loves to offer support to newbies is lperk002. You can check out her journal by heading over to the My Low-Carb Journal/ Low-Carb Bootcamp forum and checking for her journal under the K-L section. lperk is a particularly knowledgeable Atkins-er and is a great resource if you have any technical questions.

HTH (Hope This Helps)
Wishing you good luck on your LC journey and ridding yourself of those pesky 50 lbs!

Thank you both for responding...I'm not a new comer to the computer, I've just never been interested in join any chat groups, etc. This is a new experience in that respect, so thanks for the abreviations, a lot of them I would never have worked out.
