Post New and Need Advice

HI
my name is Kristina and I live in S.California ,
This is my 2nd time doing ATkins ,
I did GREAT the first time around ,
but stupidly let it get away from me ,

Now I am having a really really hard time
Not with the food or anything in that nature ,
but two weeks on , and I've gained 4 pounds ,

I dont know what is going on

Anyone have this problem

Any suggestions ?

I'm doing it the same way as I did before ?

Could the Atkins bars be or shakes the problem ?

Any and all info ~ GREATLY appreciated

Thank you
Kristina

Hi there....
first, welcome to the board!!
If you wouldn't mind...post an example of everything you are eating in a given day...Then members may be able to detect possible red flags...
How often are you having the Atkins Bars? I know for me, the shakes are o.k. & keep me in Ketosis, but the bars do not..(not exactly sure why, but they just do)..I have read a lot of posts where others on here say the same thing..Everyone is different, and while some people can eat them and still adequately lose weight others find themselves at a weight stall..You might want to try to stay away from the processed stuff and stick with the fresh foods...See if that works for you...Its looks as though your doing great so far after glancing at your stats!!! Good Job!!

Thanks , sorry it took me so long to get back here

I stopped the bars completely last week , and weighed in 4 lbs lighter

A sample of my daily eats was

Breakfast ~
2 glasses of water
3 scrambled Eggs

snack
Glass of water
Atkins Snack bar

Lunch
Chicken breast
2 glasses of water

snack
1 glass of water
Atkins bar

Dinner
Chicken and vegtables
or
Chicken and salad
2 glasses of water

snack
glass of water
Atkins bar

Occasionally I would skip the bar and have a shake ,

I quite both of those , and lost 4 lbs .

But whats an alternative ""sweet"" treat
That wont halt me ?

Also bought the Ketostix , noticed without the bars I was in Ketosis
but this morning I was sick , had some Peto Bismol
had breakfast (Eggs) and Water
Tested my Ketosis level , and I was completely out of Ketosis ?

didnt know if It was something I ate last night ?
Or if it was the Pepto Bismol ?

Any ideas on how long it takes for something to hit your blood stream , and show up in your urine ?

Thanks for the Help guys n gals
REALLY APPRECIATE the suuport
Need all I can get to stay focused

Kristina

I'm pretty sure pepto has sugar in it... Maybe try a tablet next time or pepcid ac. You shouldn't have bars or shakes during induction at all. For most people, the bars stall them completely, so you might want to avoid them until maintenance. For a sweet treat, have some sugar free jello w/homemade whipped cream. Also, it doesn't look like you're eating enough veggies, make sure you incorporate them into breakfast and lunch as well. Good luck!
