Sounds like maybe you went a little Nuts.

Now that you've got that out of your system and you see the error or your ways. You get to start anew tomorrow.
Oh yes and I have one word for you "Moderation"

Was that 65 net carbs or total carbs? Sorry it got out of hand, but hey...you could have done worse...really. You certainly got plenty of fat today...lol. It may not hurt you, or at least not badly. Don't sweat it until you see what happens and just make sure you get right back on.

Well, according to fit day those nuts have 34 grams of fiber.

So you are looking at 31 effective grams of carbs.

No more carbs for you for the rest of the day! Have a nice steak or something for dinner, but no more carbs!

Diana...

It's not the end of the world. Yes, you went overboard on the nuts, but it's eaten and whatever damage you did (which I'm willing to bet will be small and only result in some water retention) is done. Drink plenty of water to counteract all that salt and pick up where you left off tomorrow.
As for why....you're the only one who can answer that. Everyone gets a case of the munchies now and then and I can see where it would be very easy to eat that many nuts if you aren't paying attention to how many you've had.

BTW...are nuts the only thing you've had to eat today? If so, I can understand why you would have eaten all that...you were hungry!

Merely a flesh wound...not worth beating yourself over...it happened and its done.

Was it great? Was it everything I could imagine? Maybe I could live vicariously through you for this event! LOL!

Seriously...not a biggie...as least no-one was hurt!

Get back on base tomorrow and in a few days it will all have been a memory!

Best wishes;
Jake

Last time you ate 2 or 3 cups of shrimp, you asked if it was OK carb wise.
I know you are 15 and that is old enough to understand what a binge is.
It is not something to be ashamed of but it is a bad sign that something more serious is going on.
Whats up with you seeing a Dr? Nutritionist?
I seriously DO NOT believe a carb count is what you need, but HELP is what you need, so I am going to remind you that you need to see a Dr and nutritionist as soon as possible. You are already showing signs of an EATING DISORDER-often people think that means anorexia or bulemia but it is also binging without purging.
PLEASE PLEASE go to the Dr.

At least you came back here to tell us! I know plenty of people who would've hidden out for days... And look at it this way... You didn't go totally off the deep end and dive headfirst into one of those sugary carby things... that shall remain nameless.

Pick yourself up and brush yourself off. Tomorrow's a new day!

Don't beat yourself up over the nuts. All any of us can do is diet one day at a time. If you goofed up today--just start over tomorrow. Hang in there--Bless you--Aleka

Aznlily, I posted on another thread about my uncontrollable behavior with macadamia nuts yesterday.

Well, guess what, I was up 3 lbs this morning, which is very depressing, but I learned an important lesson about myself.

I think the thing about Atkins is that you still can't be eating too many calories, it's just that it's a more efficient diet than a high carb diet (because you can lose a LOT on 1500 calories Atkins style, but only a little on high-carb, while being a LOT hungrier--I know this from experience), but calorie is a calorie to a certain extent, even on Atkins!

Nothing is easy......and you can't fool the body...it's evolved with the wisdom of 100000+ years, you just can't mess.

It's a shame that I found out the hard way, but I'm convinced that the only thing that'll work for people like you and me (compulsive eaters, from the sound of it) is MODERATION in all things, even on allowed food items. Having said that, it's very expensive and unappetizing to binge on high protein things, which is why Atkins helps us modify our behavior.

So don't worry too much--what is done is done. But if the behavior continues, yes, perhaps Fairchild is right--we should seek medical attention.

Gosh, I feel your pain though.
