Angry The conference sabotaged me

I just returned from a conference in Santa Rosa. I go to these things every year, and usually the meals are buffet style so there would not normally be a problem choosing things that were lc friendly. Unfortunately, this year they decided to pick specific menu items for the lunch meals, and although dinner was buffet, nothing was plain. Everything was smothered in sugary sauce. Lunch was chicken smothered in cream sauce and stuffed with cheese and polenta (that would have been OK except for the polenta!). Breakfast was croissants and pastries. We finally convinced the wait staff to bring us some fruit, but unfortunately it did not counter the other stuff. Yesterday I weighed in and had gained 6 lbs!! Today, I am down 2. Hope it won't take too long to lose the other 4 and get back to where I was. Not only did I go up in weight, but I felt lethargic and cruddy all week from all the sugar and carbs :P A good reminder of why I love this WOE so much!

Robin

Sometimes we make high carb choices and we just have to live with the repercussions.

Just get right back on track and unless you ate over 3500 calories in a day... it is just water weight and will go within a few days.

Hi Robin:
So sorry to hear that That stinks when you usually know what to expect and they change the entire set up on you.

I was at a fancy steak restaurant last weekend and would have gotten a steak but thought the Chicken Sonoma sounded good (description on menu: chicken breasts with tomatoes, mushrooms and artichoke hearts flavored with chardonnay). Not knowing too much about it and not thinking twice, I ordered it. It was a creamy sauce (could have been butter with the wine) and it had cheese (not mentioned on the menu and I am allergic to dairy). Suffice it to say it was delicious but I was bloated the next day and I stalled.
