Default Lobster Bisque

Hi,

Does anyone have a recipe for Lobster Bisque?
I did a search and couldn’t find one.

The other question is, when on induction, are we allowed to have Lobster Bisque?

Here's one from AllRecipes.com. Too high for Induction, though.

Luscious Lobster Bisque
You will need about an 8 quart stockpot for this recipe.
Makes 4 servings.

1/4 cup margarine
1 onion, chopped
1 clove garlic, minced
1 carrot, chopped
1 bay leaf
1/2 teaspoon dried thyme
6 lobster tail shells
1 cup white wine
1 cup chopped tomatoes
6 cups chicken stock
1 cup heavy whipping cream
3 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley
salt to taste
ground black pepper to taste


Directions
1 Melt the butter or margarine over medium heat in a
large saucepan or stockpot; add the onion, garlic, carrot,
bay leaf, and thyme. Cook, stirring occasionally, until
the onion softens. Add the lobster bodies, and cook until
they turn red.
2 Add the wine and tomatoes. Bring to a gentle boil, and
simmer for about 5 minutes. Add the stock and bring to a
boil. Reduce the heat to medium, and simmer for 20 minutes.
3 Remove the bay leaf and thyme sprigs. Remove the
lobster shells, picking off any meat they may still have on
them. Set aside.
4 Place the soup, in batches if necessary, in a blender
or food processor; process until smooth. Return the soup
to the pot, and bring to a boil. Add the cream and any
lobster meat you may have, and heat through. Check for
seasoning. Sprinkle with the parsley, and season with salt and
pepper. Serve.

And another one from Low Carb Luxury, that WOULD be ok for Induction:

Lobster Soup Royalle
Ingredients:
2 cups fresh or canned lobster meat
3 Tbsp butter
3 cups heavy cream
1 cup water
1/2 tsp seasoned salt
1/4 tsp onion powder
1/4 cup sherry
nutmeg to taste

Cut lobster meat into bite-size pieces. Melt butter in skillet and add lobster. Cook for 5 minutes over low heat.

Separately mix heavy cream with water. Add to skillet, stirring constantly. Do NOT allow this to boil. Add salt and onion powder. Refrigerate overnight. Reheat. Add sherry. Serve in soup bowls or in a table-serve tureen. Sprinkle with nutmeg just before serving.

Makes 6 servings. 4 carbs per serving.

Lobster Bisque

Recipe By :Marilyn
Categories :Soups

boil 2 lobster tails in 3 cups of chicken boulion
add parsley and 1 bay leaf, white pepper
boil for 10 to 15 minutes
remove lobster shells and place on side to cool -
when they cool cut lobster meat out, dice and put in soup -
then add 2 cups of heavy cream
bring to boil and serve
sprinkle top with grated cheddar and some nutmeg.

It is delicious but because I did not put in flour or corn
starch to thicken, the consistency was like milk. I am going
to try putting a tablespoon of flour next time when I find
out how many carbs are in it. I like it thick but I have to
say this was extremely delicious.....;-)

NOTES :No counts provided.

Try ThickenNotStarch it is a product available online and now at a little health food store near me...which is amazing because this is a small town. It is a low carb thickener developed by a woman who is on Atkins and you can use it to thicken gravies sauces or soups.....it is all vegetable gums and all fiber...so 0 ECC

I managed to get a sample pack from the health food store near me that they had made up.

I really liked it and made gravy and thickened a soup with it!!!

Oh and your recipes sound delicious I will have to make one of these when lobster is on sale near me!!!
