I go with cucumbers or celery, or lately pork rinds. More water also can help. Or I work out extra. All that sweating definitely increases my willpower.

Dill pickles have been doing the trick for me lately.

I don't know why, but to me pork rinds or celery just don't have the same crunch as good old tortilla chips did. Sometimes I really miss those things! Even so, when I get hit by a bad case of the munchies I usually increase my fat intake. It does wonders. I also eat a few nuts daily, drink lots of water and munch on ice. I'm a late-night snacker and I'm trying to break this habit which isn't easy. That's when the ice sometimes comes in handy. At least it's given me enough to have littler late-night snacks.

Oh, one thing I had last night was a few pork rinds dipped in blue cheese dressing. I saw it mentioned here on the forum and thought, 'EEEWWWW!' I was surprised at just how good it is!

I'm thinking tomorrow I might have to try the LC tortilla chips, though. We have a lone shell in the fridge.

I'll also go for the fat or protein first to see if that will help. Often a chunk of cheese does the trick.

Nuts and pumpkin or sunflower seeds are also faves, though I have to watch portion sizes.

Cucumber or celery with cream cheese.

A big salad with lots of crunchy veggies -- radishes, celery, cauiflower, peppers, etc.

Pepperoni slices crisped in the oven or microwave.

In desperate TOM times when I am willing to eat lots of calories to stave off a binge, I will have LC nachos -- cheddar melted and browned, then cool until crisp - add sour cream, guacamole and salsa. Yum.

Good luck and hang in there!

Default question for Iowagirl

Iowagirl: I tried the cinnamon tortilla strips and they came out okay, but I have a question (actually two): After you mix the strips with butter and splenda and cinnamon, do you lay them out individually on a baking sheet or just throw them in a pan in a loose pile? Second, what temperature do you bake them at?

For those of you who whip cream, how is that done (sorry, I'm not much of a cook)? Do you use an electric hand mixer, and immersion blender, beat it by hand, how?

Thanks for your help!
