I agree about the confusion!!! I think thats a big part of it because you go to the grocery store and see Atkins products and assume they are a safe part of the diet, especially someone like myself who just bought the book a few weeks ago, and basically never investigated low carb eating before that time. I was excited about a new start and am a shopping junkie so I stocked up on anything and everything "low carb" which are mostly what you guys label "franken foods."
I resarted induction today and weighed my self this am. Suprisingly the scale does seem to be moving in the right direction. I'll keep ya posted and thanks again everyone for all your help. This will definitely be a major supporting key to my lifestyle change!!!

There is a place for the so-called "frankenfoods" (I hate that label...) An occasional treat to keep yourself on plan is great. If it's a "frankenfood" or the real thing... no contest.

But even Dr A, in the book said not to make them a regular everyday thing. Everything in moderation, I guess.

I recommend the Atkins shakes instead of the bars. The shakes have only 1-2 net carbs, and NO sugar alcohols. Not quite as convenient, but still good for those times on the run. Also, they taste MUCH better when cold.
