Default Atkin's diet and acne?

Good evening to all,
Has anyone noticed the great skin they have doing Atkin's? I swear, since I started low-carb, I can not tell you the last time I had a pimple on my body or any kind of blimish. My skin looks unbelievably healthy! I always thought that excess meat and fat intake would make my skin breakout and look terrible, but the exact opposite has happened. My hair, eyes, and nails seem extra shiny. Could this all be from low carbs? Anyone else care to share their skin stories cause I would be interested. Is this the cure for bad skin as well as heavy weight?

This was of eating seem to helep ellivate many things - dry sky, acne, psorisys (sp?), lower blood sugar, lower cholesterol, more engergy, less pains, loss weight.... I could go on...

My acne has cleard up a very good bit, very rarely do I get those large pustles anymore. Still get clogs poors if I don't properly exvoliate and clean it. But over all %1000 better than it was before.

I agree! Skin looks great and so does hair. Someone told me it was the fat in the diet but I don't know, I just like the results!

I used to have a reddish flushed look to my face most of the time. This was especially true of my nose. I wore green make-up to tone down the red. It wasn't related to high blood pressure, drinking, etc--I just inherited this skin tone from my father.

Since low carbing, this flushed look has very much decreased and my skin tone is "normal". It just snuck up on me. One day while putting on the green make-up, I realized that I didn't need it because it was now causing me to look too pale.

Blemishes have decreased almost to zero, and my husband remarked the other day that my skin had a really nice color. Nails are growing out of control.

I think the extra water most of us drink helps too.

Wink It's the Protein

Most of us are finally getting enough protein so the great hair and nails. I used to get my hair cut every 8-10 weeks, now I need a trim every 6 weeks. You might also find, the grey is not as prominant.

Eczema and other skin ailments like acne are generally caused by lack of essentials oils and reactions to wheat and corn. When too much wheat is consumed the body almost has an allergic reaction which can show up as asthma or skin conditions.

This way of eating also helps with recovery from surgery. I had a BR done last year. My surgeon said my skin recovered like a 17 year old's and not a 40 year olds.

I have also noticed an improvement in my skin. I rarely get a pimple and someone commented recently that my skin was like porcelain. I attribute it to the 100+ ounces of water I am drinking a day as opposed to the six pack of diet pop I used to drink a day. My nails grow so fast too. Must be all the vitamins I'm taking!

My skin is really clear too. I thought it was because I switched to a high end skin care line for problem skin, called bion, really good stuff boy.

but, I guess its the diet too.
