Default keytone strips

I just don't understand, my keytone strips have showed negative for the past two days. I'm not eating different then I have i n 2 1/2 months. Why all of a sudden am I not in the pink, and how to I get back, I tried upping my fat alittle, but it didn't help. Any advice how I get back in it. I'm still doing induction.

Don't expect to stay in ketosis long term. Your body has adjusted to the LC diet and is using more of the fat in your diet for fuel. I recently got a blood test after being strictly Atkins Induction and a 12 hour overnight fast. Even so, my ketones tested negative.

You can still continue to loose weight. Watch the calories. Don't over eat either protein or fat. Fifty eight percent of protein can be converted by the body into blood glucose. If you have hard resistance, avoid LC foods such as nuts and berries. Avoid processed foods and meats as they can have hidden carbs.

Good luck,

Kent

My ketone strips were purple until a few weeks ago. Now, they barely register any ketones. But, I'm losing faster than I ever have. So, I don't care what the stix say. I have two left. Once those are gone...I'm not buying any more.

Smile Hello

I used those ketone strips the first month, but do not have much faith in them. Personally I think you can become a slave to those strips just like the scales and they can drive ya crazy..lol You may still very well be burning fat and not be registering. I know I've lost weight and have not even been in ketosis in ages. Follow this WOL and exercise and it will all work out for the best. I really wouldn't be concerned if you are following this way of eating correctly.

I love the strips, BUT,

recently I bought 3 bottles and put them all in one bottle and tossed the desication pkts away, mistake,

I left the bottle top open, mistake,

now they will not register even thought I KNOW I am in ketosis,

so the lesson learned:

buy fresh bottles, no ones on the pharmasist's counter for months, keep the desication pkt in the bottle, keep the bottle top ON,

and last, do not rely on them.

the color change has been argued for months here and still I see no definitive ruling, seems like hydration must have some correlation,

julienne

If you're getting near your TOM, then that could be why you're not getting a reading. For some reason this happens to me near my TOM, so now I don't even bother with them then. Also remember they're just a tool & not even an acurrate one often times. I've lost when they said nothing, & been stalled when they said high ketosis. So don't put too much faith in them. Use the scale & measurements- they're much more revealing & accurate. Stick with it & be patient & you'll see results. Good luck.
God Bless,
Amy-Lynne
