Salt itself isn't dangerous in moderation, but excessive salt intake can cause problems. Salt should be limited to 1000mg-2500mg daily, with a minimum of 500mg daily. Salt causes water retension, therefore slowing weight loss. Salt has also been linked to more serious health problems. Too much salt can cause hypertension & even elevated blood pressure. Our bodies do require some salt to function- 500mg. Just watch your salt intake and make sure it's within the healthy limits I mentioned before. Remember there are tons of spices out there, so you don't need to use only salt. Try some alternatives to add flavor, consider something like Mrs Dash or others- just check the carb count. Good luck.
