Question Fitday.com question

How do I add something like Splenda or and Adtkins bar to Fitday.com
I enter them as Custom foods but it asks for carbs but that is not the right amount as it is based in net carbs.
If I add 21 carbs like it says, I am way over my carbs even though i know i am not.
If I entered it as only net carbs then it tells me it is not calculating right due to the calories and carbs totals.
I guess I could enter it as the 21 carbs for the bar but use 19 fiber grams to offset it.

How do you all deal with the fitday custom foods???

thanks Peachy

Fiber gets calculated as ZERO calories on fitday. So, if you list 19 as Fiber, it will probably still give you an error. Splenda isn't a problem. Just put it in as 1 Calorie and 0.25g Carbs. No Fiber. If you wish to count it as 1g of Carbs, you'll have to list it as 4 Calories.

calories = (4 *(carbs - fiber)) + (4 * protein) + (9 * fat)

The actual number are slightly different. But, most people just round 'em off to 4-4-9.

You can also use (for slightly better accuracy:

x - y - 4.28361z
----------------- = (carbs - fiber)
3.84063

x -- Total Calories
y -- Fat Calories/Calories From Fat
z -- Protein (grams)

Smile Hi

That is exactly how I did it! I usually custom do different foods that say they are carb free but aren't. I add a carb to cream for example. Use the hidden carb, in the right tool bar, here at low carb and you can find any hidden carbs.

Thank you so much.
It was getting a little confusing and I did not want to have a false reading. I love being able to use Fitday and it helps me keep track. I am pretty good at figuring as I go but this is more fun and takes the time away from all those snacks I could be having.

Thank you again.
Peachy
