Default Curious- Nuts and Seeds

Hi, all - I have been wondering (and I've searched my DANDR book & Atkin's Website for the answer) - why is it that nuts and seeds aren't allowed on Induction?

I'm out of Induction now so no worries, I am just curious. Thanks!

Because the carb count added would take away from the mandatory veggies and natural fiber and vitamins that vegetables give us.

Also, they sometimes cause stalls for people so if they are added later you can determine .... oh it was the nuts!

Hope this is helpful.

Nice pic, Lisa! You look happpier everytime I see you!! Must be the life-style.

I've just started adding mac nuts, and I've found that the added fat from 1/4 cup takes care of my 4pm hunger pangs, and at the same time helps me lose. The carb count is 3 grams, fat 22.9 grams... not too bad I think.

I must confess I haven't read my book in a long time because I loaned it to a friend at work and haven't got it back. Guess I need to break down and spend another $7.00 and buy one!

Anyway... I read somewhere, it good be DANDR or CAD or who knows where about food allergies and yeast. Nuts are known to affect some people with either an allergic reaction or with yeast overgrowth. I think... remember, I have read the book in a while.. that the good ol' doctor wants us to really clean out our systems so when we add foods back in we can see what we do or do not tollerate.

Plus, as stated before, there is a higher carb count and vegis should be included in our diet and other carbs should just be added and not be the focus of the carb consumption.

But you know, right now I could go for a table spoon of almond butter.... YUM!
