Expected this. I had bacon in the refrigerator that need to be used before the expiration date and I went overboard on eating it. It usually causes me to retain fluid and I ended up drinking all night long, so I knew the scale would be up. Hopefully, it will be down a little tomorrow before I leave for vacation.

05/04: 190
05/05: 191
05/06: 190
05/07: 190
05/08: 193 GASP! Went out for dinner last night and had some cream of spinach soup along with my broiled salmon and salad and I KNOW that soup was the culprit. The waiter assured me that the soup had no added sugars, no flour, no potatoes, and no grains in it...that it was thickened with sour cream and melted cheese. Obviously he lied because everything else I ate all day was on my WOE and I did NOT overeat. I knew I'd gotten a bunch of hidden carbs at dinner when I woke up at 5 AM this morning STARVING. So now I'm having to tough through the HUNGRIES till I get back into ketosis

KOSMO - have fun at Myrtle Beach! Avoid any soups and make it all about having fun with family, not about "dining experiences". You've been on this WOE long enough to know what you can and cannot eat without gaining weight. You'll do just fine without the scales!

Toddy - don't get too frustrated. When we exercise more, I think that instead of basically melting and getting flushed out as water, fat turns into muscle which is more dense. So, for a while at least, we don't lose weight but we do lose inches. And EVENTUALLY those extra muscles increase our metabolism rate and we start losing weight again. If you keep exercising and stick with the WOE so you don't gain any weight, then you WILL be gaining muscle mass and that is a GOOD thing. Over the long haul it is probably even better than simply losing weight. It may take a week or two but you will start losing weight again soon. Have faith!

Tyra - congrats on the new low!

Jama - flowers and best wishes for your upcoming surgery.

-yes, that HAS to be the explanation.

Welcome xtarvc4! Good to have you join us. This is a very supportive bunch here and I think you'll like us. Daily weigh-ins... except when away from home and one's scales... certainly have helped keep me going. And, just so you know and don't lose us, we start a new thread each month so the thing doesn't get so long it is unwieldy.

After that horrid 3 pound jump yesterday, I decided to do a 24 hour IF to get rid of the carbs and weight and get back into ketosis as quickly as possible. Didn't quite manage 24 hours as hubby decided, totally out of the blue, that it was a beautiful day to break out the smoker and barbeque. There was no way I could pass up those gently smoked boneless ribs so broke my fast about 4PM with a couple of ribs and a small mound of steamed broccoli. Still managed to get back in ketosis tho and have high hopes of getting back down to 190 by tomorrow.

No more restaurant soups for me.

Welcome xtarvc4 !

Bev- I might have a jump tomorrow as well!
Breaking my 5 day egg fast today with a paleo/primal chicken meal.
It's my birthday and I refuse to eat only eggs!

The plan is to slowly ease in to the primal way of eating - but no pure
sugars like honey though, only from veg.
I will continue the IF 16:8 and hopefully that will keep the pounds coming off.
