Default Nuts while on induction

I'm trying to stay on induction to lose some of this weight and I know Dr. Atkins says not to introduce nuts during induction, but since I swim, having an ounce before swimming seems to energize me. Anyone out there have experience eating nuts and still able to lose well while on induction? No loss last week or this week (but I did have higher calories 1600-1700 last week). I'm going to cut calories to 1250-1300 and see if that helps. My fat is up there at 65-75%. Hmmmm, with taking prozac I guess my loss is just going to be slow.........
Thanks for any input.

You know what, I think, you should dump the nuts and leave your cals alone. I 'm just going through the exact same thing, and after reading through my food journal( on paper), I 'm sure it's the nuts that I introduced, that stopped me right in my tracks, (2 weeks now).
So today I have cut them out, will seem what next week brings. I'm a pool addict, and what works good for me, is Cottage cheese and blueberries, or strawberries. Prior to getting past Induction, a boiled egg, before swimming was good, and a chunk of cheese right after, like I'm talking as soon as I got in the Car, LOL.

Good Luck, just my ideas, Kathy

Hi Lil,

You know I have to agree with Kathy. Cutting your calories is more likely to make your body want to hang onto all it has - and resist further weight loss.

I've been on this board for over 12 months and have seen over and over again folk say their loss has resumed or increased when they increase their calories.

As for the nuts, Induction lasts for 2 weeks. You may well wish to keep your carbs at Induction levels for longer, but technically you are not on Induction so eating nuts is fine.

Have you actually tried increasing your carbs? I have also seen many folk lose more weight once they increase the carbs. Just a thought.

All the best to you.

Rosebud

Thanks for both the replies....one for and one against. Maybe I'll try upping my carbs and see what happens. I've been keeping them at about 13-15 . And it sounds like I should leave my calories alone. It's so nice to NOT be hungry. Thanks you guys!!
Inch by inch-just like the little engine who could.
