Default goal weight

Has anyone changed their goal weight as it got closer? I remember weighing 150 20 years ago and it was fine, not bikini fine, but I felt and looked good. Now I am doing strength training, so I have more muscle. I am wondering if I could wish for 140. My goal is size 8 or 10 and whatever weight that is.
Anyway, how many have reached their goal and were able to lose more?

I would think that, once your very near to, or at your current goal, that at that time, it would be best to reassess it.

I'm at the opposite end, LOL
I'm only 50 % there, and I'm already thinking, gee, maybe, my goal weight is a little low?? I feel so good, it's hard to imagine to lose that amount on top of this??

Good Luck Kathy

This is a good thread that helped me with the goal weight issue: Using BF% as goal

I originally had my goal weight at the unrealistic 125... I would have to lose a couple pounds of muscle to weigh that. No thanks.

Anyway, I found this to help with guidelines. To be honest, I feel wonderful with my body right now, but shaping and toning and whittling down that layer of fat can't be bad, right?

Good luck figuring out what's right for you!

I lowered my goal by 2 lbs - for me, it gave me more incentive to stay on plan and not cheat

I also figure that if I can make it to my goal weight (which, by the way, would be the lowest weight in my adult life) than I can do anything!

I upped mine a little as I got closer after I took a look at BF %. My original goal would have left too little body fat. And realistically I do like to have a few curves. lol

I originally had my goal weight at 125; not unreasonable for someone who is 5' 3" tall, but when I had my lean body mass calculated, it came in at 130 pounds. That would mean that I'd have to give up at least 5 pounds of muscle to reach my goal weight and that would be without any body fat at all, so it would be far more in reality. No, thanks. I uppped my goal weight to 140 for the time being and may stop sooner depending on how I look and feel.
