Question sugar substitutes

Hi: very c confused about the sweet&low sold here (Israel)
the ingredientes are 97% dextrose and 3% saccharin..
This doesn't sound right...
What can I do?... The other sweetners are aspartame??? Is there anything else... ( splenda is not sold here).
I started to use less amounts, but give me a break!...Decaf,black and no sweetner...Will it really stall my weight loss?
Please some advise!!!!!

Default sweetners

It's really wierd with the sweetners... I'm gonna try reducing the amount I take... to see what happens
Here it's difficult cuase you don't have any low carb treats or any thing like they do in the States...so when you get the munchies
there's not a lot you can calm yourself with... This has been my problem for years... I dream of sweets!!!!
Any ways we have to hang on there....
Thanks for the kind words...it helps to know there are others out there
By for now you all,
Claudia

hi there,

The dextrose is used as a filler; I'm sure if you check the nutrient data panel, the carb count per serving should be less than 1 gram. Even splenda uses a carbohydrate filler ... maltodextrin, and it also provides approx. 1 gram per serving.

Are you able to get Hermesetas tablets in your area?? These have been around forever, and available all over the world as far as I know. These are made with saccharin, but there's only a tiny amount of filler used to make the tablet. That might be an option, if you can find them.

hth,

Doreen

hi Claudia,

Hermesetas tablets are so tiny, I doubt there's more than a trace of carbs in each one. It would probably take 10 or 15 tablets to make up one gram.

I didn't realize that Hermesetas also come in a "gold" formula, that's made with aspartame. The original (saccharin) comes in blue package.

hth,

Doreen
