Hi.

I am am new here and have tried to start this diet without reading any books. All i have eaten for the past 2 days is tuna, eggs and mayo. No weight loss yet but then i havent felt any thing odd yet.

Can you please recommend which Atkins books i am meant to buy as there are so many to choose from?

I would suggest Dr. Atkins New Diet Revolution to start with. It explains everything- from what to eat, to why, to how to stick with it, and tons more. Until you get the book, I would suggets visiting the website for a list of acceptable foods for Induction and a more condensed version of rules and explanations-http://www.atkinscenter.com. Welcome to low carbing. Good luck.
God Bless,
Amy-Lynne
PS Be sure to eat low carb veggies, drink tons of water, and find a good multi-vitamin.

I think you should limit the amount of tuna you eat because of the mercury content. This applies to most seafood these days. Read the Atkins book. You can eat lots of good foods and before you know it you'll be losing the pounds.

You might be able to get by without buying a book. This website is an awesome place for information. Plus there are all sorts of other websites that have this information.

Sorry... i'll try not to rant but you are not doing Atkins. Atkins is a healthy way to lose weight. You eat 2-3 cups of veggies daily (this is mandatory) and helps with weight loss.

You eat until you are full so that you become satisfied with eating again so that you can keep your weight off.

This is a list of Induction do's and please read it because you are starving yourself in an unhealthy way and your body will rebel by hanging onto your fat.

All the best to you AND PLEASE READ THE BOOK or any book for a program that is full and healthy.

I know you might "get by" without the book, but the website doesn't have all the info or explanations that are in the book, so... Please go ahead and spend the money and buy the book- believe me it's worth it. Also read the book, don't just buy it and put it on the shelf. It's an easy read with so much interesting info.
God Bless,
Amy-Lynne
