Hyperpigoutogenesis
Hi all,
Sorry to be throwig around the scientific lingo. Let me explain the word "hyperpigoutogenesis" : hyper (means pedal to the metal giddy-up), pigout (means eat like a famine is coming), genesis (for creation or beginning). HPG.
Had an attack of HPG yesterday. Had to go out at the crack of dawn and in the early morning fog rush had two deviled eggs for breakfast. Many errands took me many walking miles, past, oh, about ten-thousand restaurants/bakeries/donut shops.
Returned home about six hours later (Dr. Atkins advises not going more than six waking hours without eating) and I was famished. Raging hunger. My taste buds consulted and decided on linguine with white clam sauce and garlic bread. Wine. Overruled 'em.
But I had stopped at a grocery and one of my puchases was an on-sale package of chicken wing drummettes. 1.27 pounds. Hot wings !, I thought. Was too hungry to look up a recepie. I dumped 'em in a bowl, put a big hunk of butter in a saucepan, and drowned it with the rest of a nearly full bottle of hot sauce. Poured that over the chicken. I suspect you should marainate it (maybe for hours), but I layed 'em out in a pan and stuck 'em in a 450 degee oven. 30 - 40 minutes for nice and crispy. Hurry, oven.
Make some quick blue cheese dressing. Pretty common, I guess. Crumble blue cheese in a bowl and add sour cream. Mix it up, but leave it a little lumpy. Then add lemon juice until it is as creamy as you'd like.
Then I sat down and ate every single bite of that chicken. Sucked the bones. For dessert, had a red raspberry Diet-Rite with a spoonful of heavy cream stirred into it.
(Burp ! ) Well, it wasn't a half-gallon of ice cream with Hershy chocolate syrup (whoopie-ding, it's FAT FREE), but it did feel like a pigout. Sort'a.
When you suffer from HPG, seems like the whole world is a high carb minefield. Sigh.
