Question Diet Rite Soda?

Quick question about Diet Rite Soda... I just found Diet Rite thanks to people here; finally a soda with Splenda instead of the dreaded aspartame. Although it says 0g af carbs per can, how many actual grams are in a can so I can include them in my daily count? How many do yall count them as?

I count it as 1 g of carbs per serving just to be safe.

I just e-mailed Diet Rite asking them the same question, and if they notify me of the exact amount of carbs per can I'll post it here. Thanks.

Thanks AmyTN...is this stuff any good? I hate diet drinks as they could gag a maggot IMHO. If this is decent though, I amy try it.

Hubby likes it, especially since it has no caffiene and no sugar or aspartame. For me, I only have taste for water now, and the occasional unsweetened iced tea

Actually, when they say zero you can probably believe them. Unlike the Splenda that you use, which is "fluffed" with maltodextrin, Diet Rite can buy and use liquid Splenda which has no carbs. (All of the carbs in Splenda are from the maltodextrin, etc. that they use to give it bulk.)

It used to be possible to buy liquid splenda online - they imported it from Brazil. But now you can't. There's a thread on the board somewhere (I think in low-carb products) asking people to e-mail the company and ask them to make it available in the US. Might be a good one to look for.

You can get liquid Splenda in the form of a product called "Fiberfit" online. Zero effective carbs (just some fiber). Just type in "Fiberfit" in a search engine.

Diet Rite is a life saver for me! I had been so sick of just drinking water all the time... I was used to my diet Coke! Anyway, it says 0 grams carbs on my can, so I would assume that 0 means 0, especially since it doesn't say less than 1...

In diet rite, 0 means 0. As someone said above, the reason the Splenda generally available in stores has carbs is because if the filler. Splenda is so sweet that without filler there would practically nothing in the packet. For a delicious treat pour 12 oz diet rite into a large glass and then add 2 oz of whipping cream. The carbonation will stir it up, and it tastes like an ice cream float with less than 2 carbs. The lady whp origiblly posted it on another board said to becareful because it was so filling and good, she wasn't getting enough calories some days. Nyah Levi
