Talking Introduction from a Newbie in Maryland

Hello from Millersville, Maryland - just South of Baltimore. I've been on Atkins for 5 weeks now and just cheated for the first time last night after being on a plateau for one full week.

I've peeked into the forum a few times, but just now registered. The recipes I've found and support convinced me to join.

I've been a yo-yo dieter since my 20's - from 315 to 160, now back up to 234. As long as I am under 200, I'll be happy. Hoping the l/c will be for lifelong maintenance, as constantly buying clothes because I have nothing that fits is getting way expensive!

I'm looking forward to getting to know everyone!

Hello and welcome!

Technically, a plateau is six to eight weeks with neither scale loss nor inches lost, so don't fret - a week with no weight loss is normal. Don't get discouraged - it leads to cheating.

I love the recipes here, too. There are so many; I've been registered for nearly a year and I've barely made a dent in them!

Enjoy the forum!
