Cool Gluten Bread

HI.
HAS ANYONE EVER HEARD OF "GLUTEN BREAD?"
MY MOM LOST OVER 100 POUNDS ON A LOW-CARB DIET IN 1964, AND SHE ATE GLUTEN BREAD.

Most low-carb breads contain a high amount of wheat gluten which can be loosely described as the protein of wheat.

Generally, any low-carb bread will fit the bill as a "gluten" bread.

So, what else did your Mom eat besides gluten bread?

HI KAREN.
THANKS FOR YOUR REPLY.
MY MOM WAS ON A LOW-CARB DIET FROM A BOOK TITLED. "CALORIES DON'T COUNT" BY HERMAN TALLER, PBLISHED IN 1961.
TALLERS PREMISE WAS TO GET ENOUGH "GOOD" FATS TO MELT YOUR BODY FAT.
MY MOM WOULD DRINK AN OUNCE OF SAFFLOWER OIL PRIOR TO EACH MEAL. (this was way back before they came out with oil in capsule form). I DO NOT REMEMBER WHAT HER BREAKFASTS CONSISTED OF, BUT DINNER WAS USUALLY STEAK AND A BAKED POTATO WITH BUTTER AND SOUR CREAM (along with the oil, of course). I LEAFED THROUGH THE PROTEIN POWER BOOK, BUT IT LOOKED TOO COMPLICATED FOR ME. I AM JUST TRYING TO GO LOW ON CARBS. I HAVE BEEN THREE WEEKS WITHOUT "SUGAR" AND I AM DOING WELL. THE FIRST WEEK I LOST 4 POUNDS AND THE SECOND, I LOST 4 MORE, BUT NOW I HAVE BEEN AT A STANDSTILL FOR ALMOST A WEEK.............I HATE WHEN THAT HAPPENS!
HAVE A GREAT DAY.

Hello Littlelott & welcome. This 3rd week is an opportunity for your body to catch its breath after two amazing weeks of losing weight. Just keep with the program and you will resume losing. Don't expect that your losing will be a straight line downward. There will be some losing, some staying the same and maybe even a bit of gaining as water retention sometimes affects you. Be patient and keep on with your plan and all will resume the downward direction.

By the way, unless it's a BIG problem (we have one member with a broken arm) please turn off your "caps lock key." It's considered 'shouting or yelling' on a board and is also rather hard to read.

Hope your losing starts again in week 4.

Thanks for the encouragement, Tofi.
Also for the heads-up on the caps lock. After reading some other posts, I have decided I was probably having too much cream (too many times per day) in my decaf coffee, so I will cut way back in that department.
