Default Carbs burned during exercise

Hi all, just wondering if any one has a list of how many carbs are burned during exercise. In particular:

1 hour of weight training
1 hour Pump class
45 minute Step class
40 minutes of swimming, freestyle - moderate
45 minutes of squash / racketball - moderate
1 hour of tennis - moderate
1 hour of volleyball - moderate

If not, does anyone know of a web site wher they may have some similar exercises.

Thanks, Paul.

Hi pcorradini,

I have noticed that the calorie indicator on the machines in the gym indicates that about 20 mins of brisk rowing, stepping, cycling, running on a treadmill etc burns about 100 calories. As a gram of carbs is about 4 calories thsi would seem to mean about 25g carbs.

However it is not as simple as this. Over the Xmas holidays I went to the gym frequently and worked out for about 2 hours at a time. I was off the diet at this time and figured this would burn the carbs. It didn't work - I put on about 5 kilos!!! (about 11lbs).

There are good reasons for exercise but I think just to burn carbs isn't one of them.

Good luck,

Robert
