I am on induction. Yesterday I had eggs and bacon for breakfast. Some cheese for a snack, two burgers with cheese, and some sausage. I also had broccoli and ribeye for dinner. I think you are doing fine. How long have you been on induction?

Vicki that looks ok but everything you are eating has a lot of sodium which may make you retain water.

You should read some journals to get other peoples menus.

Average day and I keep to about 30 carbs daily (and i'm a pretty hungry low carber):

b: piece of breakfast quiche (eggs, cream, cream cheese, bacon, sharp cheddar baked, red pepper and onions diced and baked), cup of decaf w/ 1 half and half and 1/2 splenda

s: 10 macadamian nuts

l: caesar salad (w/ piece of jerk chicken breast, roasted onions, portabella mushroom, romaine, 1/4 tomatoe, parm cheese, high fat caesar dressing), diet rite black cherry soda

s: today atkins bar (not pleased about it though - just getting rid of the box on my desk), cup of decaf w/ 1 half and half and 1/2 splenda

d: roast chicken and homemade cole slaw

s: 3 cheeters crackers (6 carbs - 5 fiber) w/ butter

Hi V- and Welcome...

Yesterday am:
one hard boiled egg
one piece of cheese

Lunch:
Can of tuna with mayo and mustard
1/2 avocado smashed with garlic/pepper and a few pork rinds

Snack:
one piece of cheese
2 pieces of thinly sliced salami
another egg

Dinner:
1/2 pound of ground beef with a few onion slices, grated cheese, mushrooms stuffed in a huge lettuce leaf...

Lots of water - hot, warm and cold just to make it different! ha!

it varies from day to day.... but usually cheese and hboiled eggs on hand at all times....

I was drinking powdered crystal light... but now that I am "edge-a-ma-cated". .. ..i need to go out and buy/try the Hansens or Diet Rite sodas.

Good luck! See you around!

and YES! reading Journals is very helpful to get ideas!! Oh... and try fitday.com!!

Today I had 2 scrambled eggs with 2 strips bacon for breakfast. For lunch a small bowl of homemade chili (no beans) with 1 oz melted monterery jack. For dinner we will have 8 oz broiled salmon and 1 cup of sauteed cabbage. Didn't snack today.

Typically I have a couple of eggs of a slice of low carb bread for breakfast, a salad with some protein for breakfast and a protein (often a steak) and a veg for dinner. If I snack I have a small handful of macadamia nuts and or a low carb chocolate bar. I am past induction and tolerate the chocolate bars well. I no longer eat the low carbs bars - I don't like them, they are expensive, they stall me and there are better things to eat.

My favorite snack when home tends to be some shredded cheese on a plate that I put in the microwave for 3 minutes - makes a nice crisp to eat.
Good luck on this way of eating.

Not on induction, but trying to stay at 30 grams per day or less.

Hi,
Take a look at My FitDay to see everything that has passed my lips for the last 12 weeks. (just click back through each day).
I'm still keeping to Atkin's Induction (although I have had a couple of extra carbs on the odd day). Remember that the carbs shown on FitDay are the total carbs and NOT the actual Atkin's countable carbs (e.g the fiber has not been subtracted), so don't think I'm way off my Induction limit of 20 carbs because the fiber brings it back down.
Down 38 pounds and loving it!!!
Good Luck!
Simon.

Here's a few days ago... picked this one cause it's a rich and enviable OWL menu

Breakfast- Atkins muffin w/ Smart Balance, hard boiled egg, cheese cubes, green tea

Lunch- Broccoli, celery, mushrooms w/ ranch dressing for dipping
Turkey, provolone, cheese, lettuce, olives, and mayo rolled up in a low carb tortilla

Dinner- Two small chicken thighs, fresh green beans sauteed in garlic and olive oil

This day, by the way, was (according to FitDay) 1623 calories w/ 27g carbs.

Feel free to check out my journal. I almost always post my food and there are some good ideas in there. I loooove food, so anytime you want to talk about it or trade recipes... I'm there!

Today...

2 cups Japanese green tea

3 egg omelette with 1 oz. Brie, a load of spinach and a bit of tomato

Almonds and blue cheese, 1/4 cup whipping cream

Spinach salad with egg, tomato, red onion and basil buttermilk dressing + yogurt, garlic and oregano marinated chicken breast

Lotsa water!

In the Low Carb Kitchen forum, there's an area for Daily Menus. It died quite a while ago, but it may be worth reviving. I would post the link but I'm working on a Mac and it doesn't behave at all like my PC! Grrrr!

Yes cheeters crackers is a brand name. 3 rather large crackers are 6 carbs and 5 fiber and are very yummy.

I buy them on the site here for shopping netrition.com and LOVE THEM!
