Default Looks like it Hashimotos

Two weeks ago I got a new set of blood work back as I felt like my meds were not working.
I started Armour 2/3 years ago and have felt like its stopped working.
Results as follows:

July 08

T4 9.3 (9.00 – 19.00)
TSH 0.12 (0.35 – 4.94)

July 06

FT4 13.8 (9-19)
FT3 5.1 (3.25 - 6.21 this is usually 0.5 - 5.00)
TSH 0.01 (0.40 - 4.0)

April 06

T4 13.8 (9-19)
TSH 5.7 (.50-5.00)

November 04

T4 12.6 (9-19)
TSH 9.4 (.50-5.00)

I also asked for thyroid antibodies I suspect Hashimotos.

Here is this result:
Thyroid Peroxidase 1215 (0-75)

Anyway, since I was feeling under par I have switched to Eltroxin 225mg and also started back on the Adrenal support (feeling a little better)

My weight gain is appalling.

Anyone got any views on the Thyroid Peroxidase result?

Well, it's pretty much a given if you're hypothyroid you have got Hashi's, not sure there is much else that can cause it. Your TSH levels are horrible, how come they're not increasing your meds?

Well, I've just gone from 175mg to 225mg and have a blood test in 2 weeks.

I thought my T4 results were worse than my TSH.

How high to you reckon my meds will need to go before I can live anything resembling a normal life??

I don't know, I don't think anyone does really. But at least they're increasing them now! Yay! I always felt slightly better almost immediate but they say it might take 4 weeks or so to build up in your blood.

I actually do feel a little better so thats goods, but worried about the long term implications of Hashi's..

Heard it can lead to cancer and other problems....

Hashimoto's is not the only thing to cause hypothyroidism though it is one of the most common. Though with hashi's the thyroid will splutter to life from time to time. Other causes of hypothyroidism include as we know yoyo dieting and some medications such as lithium ( there are others but I can't recall of the top of my head but I can look it up if anyone's interested)

The endocrine system can be tricky sometimes.

I have Hashi's and I find I swing between hypo most of the time and hyper occasionally. It's not much to worry about if well monitored. Eventually your thyroid will peter out and you'll be hypo all the time. In some cases in Europe they remove the thyroid entirely. Whether to be worried or not should be based more on your symptoms rather than your lab value. Hashi's can mimick some psychiatric disorders such as bipolar.

I am not sure about the cancer link BUT it is an autoimmune disorder so the theory is is once you have one it makes you more succeptable to others such as lupus or RA. It can also in rare cases progress to Hashimoto's encephalitis but only rarely
