Question Newbie question

On other bulliten boards I'm on people post new threads every day to discuss whatever topic the board is about..

I don't understand the concept of the big threads here that go on for 38 pages.. it's hard to read through them if you are new to the forum. I'm not complaining.. really.. I just think it would be easier to have new threads throughout the day or at least once a week or something...

Maybe I'm just strange

I'm not to sure what you mean Karlita. The long threads are usually on a single topic, sometimes they get off track though.

On the right hand side of this page, below your avatar or where it says "Welcome back, Karlita" is the view new posts and view today's active threads. Maybe that's what your looking for?

the big threads are like continuing conversations. The one on triple digits about who has to lose 100 pounds started a couple of years ago. Its now about 60 pages. The thread started with a question. Now its kind of like people talking about this and that and how the day is going. Its like a meeting place.

You probably don't want to read the whole 60 or so pages. So to get an idea of what is going on, go the box titled, Who has to lose 100 pounds. In the box you see number ending with last page. Click on the words last page. The last page will be displayed. At the bottom of the page look and you'll see this:
53 54 55 56 57 (58) indicating that you are on page 58. the last page.

Click about five pages from the end, start reading and you'll see what the long threads are about. You may even want to start posting there and let everyone know how you're doing.
