Default Your experience with supplements

Hi guys,
i have been taking this supplement.

http://www.jarrow.com/product.php?p...up=2&prodid=341

2 tablets in the night after food for 2 months now. Is it possible that a supplement may cause a hypoglycemic state. I dont know if it is a causal relationship but I suspect that this supplement is casusng me hypoglycemia in the morning.

I know get a glucosemeter and test it. I promise I will do it as soon as I can this weekend to be exact.

Is it better to space such a supplement and take one after every meal. i guess my question is blood sugar lowering supplements should be taken when like after food before food or what time during the day. If anyone has tried these do they work?

This supplement in general is like a multivitamin with that extra herb so i just consider like a multi vitamin

No questions are stupid!
I have taken most of the stuff in this and am currently taking some.It is difficult to answer this question because we are all different.I will try:
1.A lot of the contents are vitamins and minerals. These should not cause hypoglycemia
2.The rest of the contents are various things, that with long
term use, will sometimes lower blood glucose but the quantity
of each ingredient per 4 pill serving is so small,it is very hard
for me to think that hypoglycemia would occur from 2 pills.
I assume you think you may be experiencing hypoglycemia
because of the way you feel in the morning.Testing your glucose
will tell you for sure.
Good luck with this.please don't hesitate to ask questions.
Eddie

Bitter melon and cinnamon have ingredients that affect blood sugar. I am not sure about the others. You can consider them to be drugs.

Wink supplements affecting blood glucose

"Bitter melon and cinnamon have ingredients that affect blood sugar."
Quantities(for most people) are way too small to have much of an impact. You need at least 2000 mg of bitter melon a day to have a modest effect on blood glucose and 1000 mg of cinnamon.
I take 3000 mg of bitter melon per day divided into 3 doses.
I don't take cinnamon anymore because it never had any effect
on blood glucose. There are various things in the pill that supposedly affect blood sugar but quantity(mg) is way too small to have impact. That's one of the
problems with combo pills with a lot of ingredients that supposedly lower
blood glucose-not enough mg of any one ingredient.
I must again qualify this information by saying that we are all
different. That's why testing is a good idea.
Cheers
Eddie

If you don't have elevated blood sugar, perhaps taking a supplement designed to lower it may not be the best thing.

I don't have any experience with herbs designed to lower BG levels. All the supplements I take are supposedly effective in preventing complications of diabetes.
