LOL Bridget! your bum is too big compared to what? Folk like big bums as long as the owners of them don't get too wierd about them and start reversing out of rooms. Neither should they refuse to let them be seen naked on the grounds that they may have cellulite. It is a known fact that men are not concentrating on cellulite at this point in an encounter

Seriously, you can't 'spot reduce' just your bum, your overall weight loss will affect that. You can tone it up though. Anything using those big bum muscles will help such as:

hiking up hills
running
skating
cross country skiing
steppers - or running up stairs
leg kick backs (on all fours, bend leg at knee, push foot towards ceiling)
squats

Take care, Jay

PS Jennifer Lopez has a big bum and it doesn't seem to do her any harm

Yes but she has zillions more dollars than me and Ben Affleck to boot

Thankyou for your advice. I think I will try the squats and the leg kick backs on top of my daily swimming (which is mostly toning up my arms and back).

This is hereditary in our family amongst the women, so no matter where else I have lost weight before, it has always stayed put on my bum Got to be able to fight those genes with some good ol' sweat!

So you're Ben's Australian Honey. After seeing your photo, I know why he was in such a hurry to leave my dinner party last weekend to go rushing off to the airport!

Plan: Atkins KISS
Stats: //
BF:
Progress:
Default If you use it it will GROW

If you use a muscle alot, it will grow larger. I didn't lose my big bum until I quit

hiking up hills
running
skating
cross country skiing
steppers - or running up stairs
leg kick backs (on all fours, bend leg at knee, push foot towards ceiling)
squats

...and instead just started WALKING. NOW it's toned and not overdeveloped (bubble butt or J'lo butt) as people call it. All these women with rears out to there on the stairmaster, honey, you are only making it GROW in strength and SIZE and stick OUT even more.

Now if a FAT BUTT is your problem, any cardiovascular exercise, low carb diet and a little weight lifting should decrease the FAT content there and lift it, but don't over-do it or you might become your own worse enemy -

The gluteous maximus (butt muscle) is one of the largest in the body other than the quads...use it...and it WILL grow even larger...so when you exercise, think of using exercises that use your whole body pretty evenly - if your BUTT does most of the work, then THAT is what will get BIGGER. Work a bicep - build a bicep...same goes for that butt.

N (I ran for 15 years and highcarb/nonfatted it...now walk and atkins and NO MORE BIG BUTT. no kidding. Okay, now you can tell me to BUTT OUT>!
