Unhappy uh-oh... a plateau

Help...I'm having a crisis.

Although I've lost 20 lbs low carbing, I've been stuck at 148 for about 3 weeks or so. My fitday averages are
P = 31%
F = 64%
C = 5%
1411 caloric ave.

I take 400mg of Chromium, 2 tblsp of Flaxseed Oil, plus a ton of other vitamins.

Does anyone have any ideas on how to jar my system into action again??? Any advice on the PFC averages??

Thanks for your help!!!!

PS..I love, love, love all the info on your site!!!

Default well.. a plateau..

Is actually staying the same with no weight or inch loss in three weeks I think..
I am the turtle queen around here.. I lose.. . at a nice easy.. about a 1 a week. I think :-)
But the measurements might be your first start.
Other thing is.. you aren't getting enough calories..I think. but hey.if I am off.. I am off :-)
have you added exercise to your WOL?

I think you are eating too little. You should be taking in 10 - 12 times your weight in calories.

If you do not ingest enough calories, your body panics and starts to conserve fat, not burn it.

Drink tons of water and get those calories up....your ratio looks good so that's not it. I bet if you eat more you will lose!

I think you are going through a "Period of Adjustment" not a stall or plateau. You have lost well in only 2 months and your body has changed in many ways. It is usual and normal to spend some weeks without the scale changing the pounds it shows.

A stall or plateau is usually defined as "4-6 weeks when neither pounds nor inches are lost". I think the 6 weeks is more useful to consider.

I hope you measured every body part you could reach when you started. the body may be adjusting and changing size while holding onto water, or gaining muscle tissue. So the scale does not change but the body is BUSY!

Keep eating according to your plan and you will get smaller. I remember that I had a 3 month 'P of A" after my first 20 pound loss back in 1998.

Hi Laneybuggy,

I read that chromium has to be taken by itself?

Any food or multi vitamin containing Zinc will negate it.

Default suggestion

I hit a plateau...then read that you should start taking 300 mgs of Q10 (co-enzymes) and 3000 mgs of L-Carnitine to get back on track. I tried it and it worked for me

Hope that helps you....

Valerie
