Default Catching Up

I almost said fukit on Sat., and not bother with packing any protein, but then I thought, now what would a real bodybuilder do? She'd have made and brought and eaten the damn chicken and rice stuff, no matter what.

So I brought 3 pre-weighed, pre-cooked chix breasts, a thing of cocheese, a little tupperware of eggs/egg whites, a pre-weighed chunk of cheese, and a big bottle of diet ice tea. And good thing I did, too, because Great Aunt served traditional Hungarian of stuffed peppers uke: the first day, and pork loin the 2nd , plenty of summer fruit, but the only veggies were more peppers uke: and tomatoes. So fiber intake was questionable the past few days, but everything else was spot-on. I recorded everything I ate, and will enter in my food tracker later today.

I also exercised--a brisk walk with 5' of stair running, and the next day we were at the baths, so about 2 hours of recreational swimming.

I passed up homemade cookies, chips, pizza, hot dogs, apple cake thingys, ice cream, coke.....and thanks to my protein and ice tea, I didn't feel deprived at all. And now to have the scale reward me--

Szia Dane!
I've seen your posts before on other forums, and I've always wanted to say hello, but I was a big lurker baby until recently. I finally bit the bullet and picked a place to at least occasionally post.

I love Hungary and Hungarians. They are a quirky, interesting bunch. I very briefly studied at what is now the University of Technology and Economics but at the time was BME--straight up Technology with those Economics hotties and their wild parties across the river in Pest.

Anytime I see your posts, I wonder what it would have been like to live there long term. I know it was not much fun to go back and visit, other than seeing the places I remembered. My magyar was nonexistent, and Budapest wasn't exactly tourist crazy.

Anyway--that was a long hello.

Thanks, Dianne...it looks SO good, but I can't get the Krusteaz products here. I did end up making a peach crisp with oats over the weekend, freezing it for a dreary winter's day. Plus sliced peaches for pies, crushed for ice cream, and 6 jars of jam. Mmmmmmmm!

I've been living here since Feb '01, first visited as a tourist in Nov '00. It's changed a bit since then, especially since joining the EU--it's very tourist friendly, and English is much more commonly spoken now than when I first arrived. My hungarian is getting better, but I still suck at putting together long sentences.

As much as I miss my family back in FL, I'm here for the long haul. Beautiful country, usually beautiful weather, good medical and school systems, and of course my Honey, aka DH.
