Lots of tips!!!!

First, your ketostix don't need to be purple, in fact that may be a sign that you are not drinking enough water. If you drink lots....then they will stay fairly light because your body is flushing the ketones out...this is a good thing!
Don't depend on them too much...as long as they are turning at all you are burning fat.

Next tip would be to start a journal. Go to bootcamp section, or there is a sticky post at the top of introductions. You can log your daily food there etc. and people will pop by and check on you. It's a good place to post questions if you don't know where else to as well.

Visit and read others journals. They are soooo full of ideas, hints, menus, recipes and inspiration.
Come by mine and say hi...and let me know when you have yours up, I will come by and check on you!!

Last for now...go to fitday.com it is a great site for charting your food as far as fat/protein/carb ratios, carb totals, and calories.

Just for starters....ratio should be 65%/30%/5% and calories should be 10 - 12 times your goal weight. Too few and this won't work.

Drink lots and I mean LOTS of water. General formula is 64 oz a day plus another 8 oz. for each 25 lbs you want to lose.

Good luck and stop by my journal any time!

Sam

I've been using the strips since week 2 and I have always just been in the pink, never the dark purple. everyone keeps saying that any color is good color, so I'm going with that. Good luck!!!

I hope so too!

Start a journal for yourself. Post your food intake and any questions...folks will drop by and check things out for you.

Visit my journal and let me know when you have one...and I'll drop by!

I've been using the sticks and I only get a "moderate" if I test before bed. I always get a "light" reading if I test in the morning or during the day. I read on this board that the sticks are only good for 6 months once opened. I had an old box that was opened a 1 year ago but not officially expired and I couldn't get any response on those.
