Hi there,

Well done on starting Atkins.

You're right...you can eat as much as you want on Atkins, especially during induction...calories aren't restricted. SO if you are hungry at 9pm then yes...have something to eat. The key is to not be hungry, but don't overstuff yourself either. Get your body used to the idea that food will be regularly supplied, and there is no reason for it to think that you will starve it.

For snacks anything on the lst of induction foods are fine...some examples are:

meat snacks, cheese (limited to 4oz per day on induction) celery stick with cream cheese, hard boiled eggs

Good luck

Lesley

Your hunger should drop off in a few more weeks.

If you are hungry though EAT. This is your bodies way of testing to see if there is enough food around to convince itself there is no famine and it's safe to use up some of the fat stores.

Try eating protein or fat: cheese (unless you hit 4 oz already for the day), leftover meat from dinner, but try not to eat anything sweet for the next two weeks as a snack. This will help reinforce the fact that the body doesn't need sweets to be satisfied

you don't need to stick to 3 meals a day. i eat around 4-5 little meals in a day.

as for snacks, celery & tuna, or egg salad, veggie sticks, jerkey (just make sure the kind, some are higher in carbs then others), and pork rinds. that was mine.

good luck!!

I eat 4X a day usually and just keep close to induction level of carbs (ignore my journal today though).
