Question Nat/Fern/Dan - Body Pump Class?

There is a Monday noon hour class at my gym called 'Body Pump'. A co-worker told me about it. It is a 40 minute class using free weights for squats, lunges, presses, etc. to upbeat music as a class. You decide on your own weights -- whatever you want.

It sounds like they do some upper and some lower body during each session. It sounds like a lot of fun! I would like to try it. However, I've been alternating upper and lower body 3 days per week. So, I'm not sure how that Monday would fit in. Do I just consider it upper body one week and lower body the next?

Thanks for your help!

Peg,

I did Body Pump for almost a year until my gym discontinued it. It is a great workout - I had a great time & learned lots about form. I was doing alternate upper & lower workouts, and would just count the body pump as a weights workout, but not really upper or lower, so if I did lower on Monday then BP on Wed then I would do upper on my next workout. Hope you like Body Pump!

Lila

Lila,

Thanks for the info! I was hoping that's what I could do -- consider it as either upper or lower.

It really looked like fun, and my co-workers who are in the class like it a lot and say it's a great workout.

Thanks,

Peg
