Default what is it with the scales?

OK, I started Atkins for the 3rd or 4th time 2 1/2 weeks ago.
I understand that it is harder to lose weight after you've done it off and on BUT....One day I think I have lost 5-6 lbs and then get on the scale again (immediately after) and it registers only a 2 lbs loss. I bought a really good scale but it depends on where my feet are placed on it. I get on it nekked, first thing in the morning for consistency's sake and can't tell I am losing.

I know some of you will say, "stay off the scale" but I'm not losing anything and clothes fit the same.....ARRRGGHHH
Boyfriend has lost 14 lbs. and he's done atkins before too. Gone down a pant size already. Me...nothing I have 25 lbs. total to lose. Him, 35 lbs.
What gives?

I'm sorry but I had to laugh at this statement--it doesn't sound like a very good scale to me if it depends on where your feet are placed on it

Remember, that men will always lose fat faster than women because by their gender alon they have more lean body mass which means they burn fat faster. Differences between the sexes--yeah it sucks but it's life and we can't change it.

Why don't you post some menus--perhaphs there is something that is holding you up. If not, it's just going to take a little patience of working the chosen plan.

ha ha lisa

it is a good scale, i think the kitchen floor just isn't level.

A lot probalby has to do with cause I had some minor lipo 6 months ago and still swell up easily after working out or having too much salt.

In addition to the knee surgery i had 7 weeks ago and my activity level still being limited.

lets see
breakfast
2 eggs, small breakfast steak
minute maid light

lunch
deep fried chicken breast
green beans w/low carb hollandaise sauce, bacon bits, parmeasean cheese (yummy)

dinner
shrimp w/keilbasa covered in cheese w/hot sauce

snacks:
celery & pistachios, sunflower seeds

tons and tons of water

Minute Maid lite probably isn't helping you; make sure you keep the cheese to 3-4 oz per day max, and nuts & seeds aren't part of Atkins this early, assuming you're following the stages.

Other than that, give it time. Your body will catch up to what you're doing but may keep its own schedule. All the best.

i am in week 3
minute maid light is only 5 cals and 1 carb
I thought it'd be a great substitute for juice!
You think that would be slowing me down?
I am so tired of just water and green tea w/splenda

I'll back off on the nuts & seeds though.

I think I will go get an ounce scale today. Cheese is my weekness but I'll try to watch that too. How big is a 3-4 oz piece?

Not very big

Take a look at your Minute Maid Lite---FRUIT JUICE!

Just because it says 1-2 grams per serving, I find you still need to read the ingredients. On a daily basis, this may be staller.

Nipping out the sugar would be very helpful. I don't like the green tea either.. but try Crystal light or some SF koolaid. Also, it could be TOM for you? So maybe you have some bloating?

love the little animation next to your name. Say, can you swim? swimming is a great low impact cardio workout. The water aerobics classes I go to at the YMCA use flotation belts, so you don't even have to get your hair wet.

exercise will speed the fat loss.
