Default Leslie's Gym Log

It's time for a Gym Log!

Even though I do a great job of eating on plan, I don't do a great job of exercising. So I'm starting this gym log in the hopes that it'll motiviate me to get some exercise daily.

Right now I am not a member of a gym but will be joining one, soon. For now, I have an elliptical machine at home and I can always walk around my neighborhood. I also have digitial cable that has pre-recorded exercise shows I can use at any time.

For now, I am planning to do some exercise on the elliptical as well as push-ups and sit-ups. Later, after I join the gym, I'll expand my strength training.

Please bear with me, as I will start out slow because I'm not in the best of shape. But hopefully my Gym Log will show my progress as I work-out to a leaner body!

This is exciting news and the results of commitment will please you.

I wanted to share a web site I found for some cardio work. Cool Running worked for me and I have a replacement knee - was told I could never run again. Well I am and in no pain. Take a look it will take you from the couch to 5k in 8 to 9 weeks and it really helps in decreasing the inches

Have fun and good luck

Well, I walked tonight. Two times around my neighborhood which equals 1 mile. And believe me, it's not flat! I worked up a good sweat and was breathing heavy at the end of the mile. So I think I'll walk 1 mile per night this week, then maybe up it to 1 1/2 miles next week, and so on.

Yay for me!

I'm on a darn roll - I also did the elliptical machine for 7 minutes (I had the resistance pretty high so that's all I could handle). Not bad for my first night.

Now if I can keep it up - I really think this gym log will help b/c I don't want to come in here and say I didn't do anything!

Great news on your workouts - I am excited to see you getting so much energy from it....

On the cool running - it works and you might want to cheat a little and move upward but don't. Three words of advice - follow directions and stretch, buy a good set of running shoes - 45 to 75 dollar range, walk 5 minutes afterwards for a cool down - they don't talk about that.

Good luck and keep it movin

Well, I'm walking my way to a leaner body.....

I walked another mile this evening through my neighborhood. I decided to time it to see how long it took me to walk it. Well, I did it in 17 minutes. And my neighborhood is not flat - I really get out of breath walking up some of the hills (but I breathe deeply from my tummy so I don't get side pains).

Really going to try this cool running that Tim has recommended. I'd encourage anyone to go out to that site and read up on it (link above).

Until tomorrow evening....

On 9/14 I did 10 minutes on the ellipitcal machine. I could have done more but it was late and I was sleepy. But at least it's better than nothing.

Tomorrow night I'm not sure I'll be able to walk since Blake has a ball game and DH will be at work. But I hope to at least do the ellipitcal machine for 10-15 minutes.

It's about time for me to up this a bit. But it's hard when Blake has games b/c I get home too late. Maybe I'll do 1 1/2 miles tomorrow night....
