Default Water

Does water really help on this diet I feel like I am drowning - drinking at least 1.5 L a day if not more, its making me feel bloated and scared to get on the scales as I know it weighs quite heavy.

Any advice would be appreciated.

IT may take a while to get into the water drinking but keep trying. The water helps your kidneys flush out the by products of using fat for fuel. If there's not enough water coming in, the liver has to take over and help the kidneys and thus the liver cannot burn as much fat as it should. So you are actually accelerating your loss by drinking water.

Try some different ways of drinking:
cold water, warm water, hot water with lemon, with ice cubes.

In a big glass, in a bottle, through a straw.

Try sipping or chugging all aat once to see which combination your prefer.

Not too much at one time - that gives me a stomach ache. Measure out 2 cups or 500 ml (= half a litre) and see how it feels.

Yes - the importance of water cannot be overstated, for numerous reasons.

If found a very personal one - gout. LC'ing has a tendency to raise your uric acid levels and if you get dehydrated they can form needle shaped crystals in your joints - usually beginning at the ball of your foot. Sound painful? It sounds no where near as painful as it is. I would have been willing to talk to anyone with morphine and a bone saw - and the morphine was negotiable!

The rule of thumb is 64 oz plus an additional 8 oz for each 25 pounds you need to lose. Minimum. For you that would be 80 oz which is about 2.3 liters. That may sound like a lot, but many of us are in the 5 to 7 leter per day range. To be sure, it takes a while to get used to it and you will be making many trips to the bathroom but your body adapts and your bladder capacity will increase with time.

Keep the Faith!
