When i get tired of the regular breakfast I like the mock cheese danish also. I usually make 2 for breakfast as I find one is just a teaser. 2 mock danish and a glass of water, all my supplements and a coffee and I'm raring to go.

Sandy, I got the bagels and they are wonderful, I really enjoyed them, Oh what is it to have a bagel again,

There is one problem though, Atkins had like quadrupled his shipping prices since I ordered. and that is really pissing me of, for me to get like 5 items totaling 38.00 I am paying 70 with the shipping ..... OHHHHHHHHH i am so mad at his company right now.. I could just scream.....

regards

Vivian

Thumbs down

Hi deb and viv....i agree, the shipping stinks. How to take advantage of those who are starved for carbs...shame on Adkins. We should all email the company with a big thumbs down. consider buying from GNC and advoid the shipping...also they will try to order what you want. I tried the bread mix...it was not as good a regular homemade, but did have that good yeasty smell when baking and the taste is way better than that awful 'soy baking mix'. Nice to have a piece of toast with that egg. Also good with mayo, lettuce and tuna in an open face sand. and just 3 carbs per slice so fits into my lunch count just fine. Well....keep on the 'lo carb road'. It's the only way to go. s

Hi Vivi and Sandy and everyone else who replied,
Thanks for the information on the bagels and the bread. Maybe they are available on Vitaglo.com. They have free shipping! I have gotten Atkins vitamins from them. How many carbs do they have? I would LOVE to have bagels for breakfast!

Dab,
You're right about 1 Mock Danish being a teaser! I have tried making it with 2 eggs, but then it is too eggy. I wonder about having 2 Mock Danish. If I remember right, they are 4 grams each, and if I had 8 grams at breakfast the would limit the rest of the day's veggies.

Sandy

I just looked at the Vitaglo web site. They have the bread mixes and muffin mixes, all under $5.00 but no bagels.

Baby JJ, I tried to look up the cocoa powder for you and even unsweetened, never mind the intro of the diet I would NEVER consume it. , can you look for carob powder or somthing like that.. I do not have the hershey cocoa by me to look at the can ...........but as for FITDAY.COM ... it a no no all the time, sorry to be the bearer of bad news.......

If you really want to start off the diet on the right foot you should not have any snacks to start with....... just follow the intro to the tee and u will be happy you did IIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII promise

Good Luck .......

regards

Vivian

Here are the stats for 1 TBS Ghiradelli Unsweetened Cocoa (the powder, not the drink):

Nutrition Facts

Amount Per 1 tablespoon
Calories 22
Calories from Fat 13.5

Total Fat 1.5g 2%

Saturated Fat 1g 5%

Polyunsaturated Fat 0g

Monounsaturated Fat 0g

Cholesterol 0mg 0%

Sodium 0mg 0%

Potassium 0mg 0%

Total Carbohydrate 3g 1%

Dietary Fiber 2g 8%

Protein 1g 2%

I don't think 1 tsp. of the powder is going to have an impact at any time but certainly not after induction. I am currently using 1 tsp. to jazz up the flavor of my chocolate protein shake.

1 tsp of cocoa powder unsweetened after induction is a common usage amongst alot of lcers. I've used it quite and bit and never had a problem. If you're having a chocolate attack it works wonders!! The mock danish is 4 gr carbs and they are to die for!! The cocoa really fixes the chocolate urge. Go ahead and enjoy.

I like something called "Textured Vegetable Protein" also called "TVP Flakes". I bought them at Community Natural Foods here in Calgary. You mix 3 T. of TVP and 1T. ground flax seed and 1/3c. water, microwave for a minute and you have oatmeal.

I can't find any nutritional info on TVP so I'm at a loss as to the carb count but I only have it once in a blue moon for something different.
