Default I'd like an idea of percentages...

I haven't read TSP yet but am trying to get a good handle on things before I go out and buy another book. I have been doing Atkins successfully now for 8 wks. along with husband and teen daughter. We've all done well and I am only 4 lbs. away from goal. I tend to be a numbers oriented person and am curious what the percentage of fat, protein, and carbs should/would be on a typical day of TSP. I have already been tracking this on fitday and wonder how much of an adjustment I would have to make from Atkins. I'm currently 65-70% fat, 25-30% protein, and 4-10% carbs (usually around 4-6). TSP from what I can tell is about the same with carbs a little higher and fat maybe a bit lower. Am I getting it? I'm trying to figure out if this will be a smooth transition before buying the book for the specifics. I tried CAD for about 4 days. After the second day all I could think about was my next reward. And that was going to send me back to carboland for sure! Any help is appreciated. Thanks!

You are getting it. The only thing to reconcile is that on Atkins you count every carb and on TSP you count only starchy carbs. Green carbs are free food so to speak. Congratulations on your great success. Maintenance on TSP will be very easy for you.
Good Luck.

Lightbulb Judy's right! You do get it!

Congrats on your success, Hammj!

So happy for you! Judy is right, maint on SP will be a breeze for you. Mainly, she believes in whole foods and counting only starchy carbs. Otherwise it's pretty much the same program.

Best wishes to you for continued success!

Thanks for the kind words and encouragement. I read your words and went ahead and bought the book. Husband and I will be making the switch next weekend. Teen daughter wants to stay with Atkins for now. I figure this will give me thime to read the book and get what we need that may be a bit different.

Thanks again. I really appreciate your help and look forward to participating at this board. Talk to you ladies later!
