Cool Cold Sweats

Hi,
This is my 6th day on Atkins and I am doing very well. I still have a headache and wish it would just go away!
I have been having cold sweats, just all of a sudden I just start sweating and before I know it my hairline is soaked. It goes just as quickly as it comes. Anyone else experience this?
Cyranda

Default light headed?

Are you also kind of light-headed? My 6th day I felf AWFUL and realized my potassium/electrolites were out-of-whack. Got some tablets and it was much better! No problems since. Good luck Lynda

Default Lightheaded

Yes, lightheaded also.. just feel sort under the weather.
I will try a multi vitamin and see if that works.

Hi Cyranda,

Light headedness sounds like low potassium, as Lynda said.

You'll need a potassium supplement as well as a multivite to correct the low potassium. You can either buy potassium tablets, or buy potassium salt, such as Nu Salt or No Salt and just sprinkle on your food.

For the first few weeks, you'll need up to 400mg daily - once Induction is over and your body gets used to low carbing, you can gradually reduce to about 100mg/day.

Of course, if you happen to be taking a diuretic or blood pressure medication, check with your pharmacist or your doctor before supplementing with potassium.

Cheers!

Rosebud
