Unhappy 6.5 lbs in 4 days? Is it healthy?

I'm worried this morning... Monday morning, i weighed in at 226.5, tuesday at 223.5 and this morning, i was curious, climbed on it and i was at 220! ( I usually weigh in just once a week!) To me, it just makes no sense to lose 6.5 pounds in 4 days!!! Am i dying or something? I just asked that question to my friend who's on WW and she told me this is SO unhealthy!!! I did everything as usual!!!

What's wrong with me? I feel like if i lose too fast it will all come back!

I wouldn't worry. I lost 10 pounds in my first week of induction and I'm still kickin'.

Monitor your weight and if you continue to lose at that rate see a doctor.

Besides...yesterday before I went to sleep I weighed 316 pounds, when I woke up I was 312. There is a natural variance in your weight that you need to account for too.

as long as you're eating good and drinking plenty of water I wouldn't worry about it....weight can fluctuate quite a bit just from morning to night, it's natural, so from day to day is not much different.

That what you call one of those good ole' "Whooooshes"

Enjoy it. I assure you there is no way you will keep losing at that rate.

A lot of your weight loss the first two weeks is water weight. After that 2lbs a week is a health rate, but no matter what your weight loss will slow as you get closer to your goal.

Salut Josie!
Were you holding steady before that? I find I lose weight in spurts each week, I will hold for a couple days, then lose 3 - 5 lbs over 1 - 2 days. I've heard that it can be explained as this: water that fills up your fat cells when the fat starts to go, then you get the whoosh because your fat cells let go of the water.

As long as you aren't losing 6lbs consistently every day(!), it is fine. You need to average your weight loss out over the week.

The only caution I would say is that if you are feeling really weak, dizzy or extremely tired, you need to take care, otherwise it seems normal to me.

It's such a relief to read you guys!! In the last month, i was losing at a rate of about one pound a week... sometimes 0.5... I eat well, i eat plenty and i feel great!

Another idea is to weigh yourself less often...there is absolutely no reason to weigh yourself every single morning. I'm struggling with that as well...in fact I just set a goal for myself to not even get on the scale until May 1st....which is gonna be tough considering I have a physical coming up on Wednesday, hahah.

Merci brpssm! C'est plaisant de voir qu'il y a des Québécois ici!

Mikhail, i'm trying, as much as i can, to weigh in only once a week. I did it for 3 weeks, then this week i was losing my pants so much that i climbed on the scale 3 times!!! I'll go back to my good habits and close your eyes when you'll get on the scale wednesday! haha!

I also lost 6 pounds in 4 days. That was about 2 weeks ago and so far I don't think I have lost much more. I weigh in on Mondays so I won't know until then. It didn't help that I ate chinese food last night either. But reallly I think my body lost it and now is holding steady and adjusting to losing those 6 pounds. Maybe next week when I tighten up I will lose some more. It's wierd but I'm glad and feel great!!

You are fine. I would consider it unhealthy if you were not eating. But, you are eating well, right? You are eating 3xs a day all healthy foods? You are fine. This way of eating allows you to lose weight, it doesn't force weightloss.

I think you will be just fine are you doing the induction phase ? our are you doing some kind of fast ? If you lose that much it is water witch is not a bad thing as long as you keep drinking it

Good Luck

I'm not on induction anymore, i eat around 25g. of carbs daily and i never any kind of fast either. If it's water, is it normal to retain 6 lbs of water then let it go? I drink around 96oz of water daily!

I guess i'll stop worrying and whining and i'll simply enjoy!!

Thanks!
