You roll your eyes at well-meaning advice from ill-educated dieticians and can't stop frothing at the mouth about "commercial interests" and varied conspiracies which influence the food guide/pyramid.

And people think you're absolutely CRAZY!

Annnnd....... you don't care because you are six sizes smaller!

When you put butter on top of pork rinds in the microwave and then add cinnamon and splenda to it, and pretend they are the cinnamon crispas from Taco Bell

1. Need to pee hourly
2. Buying at least three different types of cheese everytime you shop
3. Always looking at the labels
4. Not eating sandwiches or baked potatos for lunch ever.
5. drink a never ending flow of water
6. Not caring that the Strawberries that you buy are imported from Spain and therefore out of season.
7. Looking forward to the summer and pick you own berries and veggie farms in the summer.
8. Half a green pepper makes a good replcaement pizza base
9. You see cream as a health food not an invention from the devil.
10. Carrying the Atkins new Carbohydrate counter everywhere and using the calculator on your mobile phone to add up your lunchtime carb intake!!!

I love this thread!!

* When your 5-year-old says to a 3-year-old, "You gotta eat this. It's good and it doesn't have no carbs!"

* When you actually have a dedicated cheese drawer in the fridge.

* When it's Lent and your family isn't eating meat so you cook bacon on the sly when no one is home and hide it in a baggie in the back of the fridge.

* When you no longer have to look for panties in the "big girl" section of the store.

* When your husband kisses you with donut-covered lips and you yell, "Warn me first!!"

I do this with the kids too, if they have an ice lolly/packet crisps/donut etc and then want a kiss, they know they have to wash their face first as "mummy doesnt like carbs by association"

These are great. I can only add:
- when you eliminate potatoes from your house and your children complain and you glare at them and say, menacingly, "Potatoes are evil" in a possessed kind of voice
- When the produce man at the dinky little store hides when you come in, knowing you are going to demand he stock fresh vegetables no one else will buy
- When you refuse to go to certain restaurants because they refuse to make substitutions
- When you spend so much time walking across the lobby of your company to get to the bathroom that your co-workers wonder if you have a problem.
- When your coworkers stare as you eat a taco salad, sans taco, with avocado and full fat sour cream "You'll never lose weight doing that"
- When you worry you'll get fired for spending too much time on this forum instead of doing your work

When you wish heavy cream came in gallon size cartons at the store.

When you have more work-out clothes than regular clothes.

When you clean out your closet and get rid of the stuff that is too big rather than too small.

When people tell you if you loose any more weight there won't be anything left, even though your goal is to loose another 20 pounds to be within the normal weight range for your height.

... you have calluses on your thumb from peeling hard boiled eggs.
... a cup of sugar in the back of the pantry lasts a year.
... whereas the fridge used to be fairly empty and the cupboards fairly full, it's now vice-versa.

You have ran around your house...naked...scales in hand to find the most level spot.

Even worse...scales in one hand and a level in the other.

I know I posted on this before but something happened recently that defines my low carbing even more. Well, it really didn't happen. My daughter was visiting from Ohio with her future SIL. We treated them out to dinner to a rib place. The sil ordered rice and mashed potatoes as her side dish and I came really close to reeming her( what was she thinking? ). Instead I bit my tongue. Heck, the girl is recovering from cancer...leave her alone.

You walk past everything in the store/cafeteria and think I don't want that instead of I can't have that. It's taken me almost a year to not miss certain things.

-when your notice local grocery store stocked up on atkins or low carb products and you are sooo excited and stand around looking at all the products and reading the labels for 20 mins. and fill the cart with a ton of new items just in case they're not there the next time you come back to shop

-i too want to tell all fat people to do lcing -read an atkins book-so that they can lose weight and feel and especially LOOK happy!

-when everyone at work asks everyday ' what are you eating for lunch' "can i see! " and not believe you are melting away by eating all that

-when you are so tired of washing so many dishes and pots and pans from cooking so much food that you may invest in a shopping spree just to buy aluminum foil pans

-when you only get a legal treat after exercising religiously during the week and plan to do so every day for the next week

-when you refig/freezer contains: frozen meat, cooked meats, and meats that you are going to cook

-when everyone instinctively asks' can you eat 'this kind of fruit' or 'a little piece of that' or 'some of this' "when you are lowcarbing" and you give a brief speech about the atkins do's and don'ts
