I've been doing the Atkins Diet for three weeks now and I love it. The only problem I'm having is with my gums bleeding and feeling sore. I asked my dentist and he had never heard of a link between this diet and sore gums. Has anyone else come across this. I've always had gum problems but this seems to have made them worse. I don't want to have to stop. This is the first diet that seems to work for me. Thanks a lot.

Are you taking a Vitamin C supplement?

Have a look at this thread on bruising. I suspect your problem has the same origin as bruising - increased capillary fragility.
